Fall Portraits

It's that time of year again. Time to schedule Fall family portraits. As I type this at the beginning of September, I realize I have just a few appointments left in September and October. It is my favorite time of year and also time to start thinking about having portraits taken for Christmas cards. Can you believe Christmas is 3 1/2 short months away? Sunflowers...

When I think of summer, I always think sunflowers. It is one of my favorite flowers. Due to the fact that they only bloom for approximately 3 weeks, I had to take advantage of the photo opportunities while I could. Here are a few of my many favorites.

Love is......

Love is getting engaged. I photographed a recently engaged couple last week....Whitney & Dustin. They are so much in love and such an awesome couple! They are a beautiful match on the outside as well as on the inside. I was so honored to share this special occasion with them. Good luck with the wedding plans. You will make a gorgeous bride, Whitney!

Rusty

Today was a bittersweet day for me. My husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary but on a sad note, we had to say goodbye to our beloved, Rusty. He was a 9 yr oldlong haired miniature daschund that we had the pleasure of loving for 7 yrs. He provided our family with so much joy and laughter. One of the funniest things he did was sing with a harmonica or other musical instrument. As soon as the harmonica would start, he couldn't help but sing along. He was loved by everyone and he was the favorite of all of my kids friends. We will miss Rusty terribly but we know that he is no longer sick. Love and miss you, Rusty.

And the Winners Are....

The kids contest was a huge success. Thanks so much to all of the participants, voters, etc. The grand prize winner of the Knights Action Park passes was Holly. The winner of the pool party was Ava and the Judges Choice package winner was Bryce. There was one winner in each category, winning a 16x20 portrait from Bettis Photography. Those winners include: 0-12 month: Holly. 13 mo-2yrs: Ava. 3-5 yrs: Karlee 6-8 yrs: Claire. 9-12 yrs: Bowie. Mommy & Me: Heather/Landon. Buddies: Angelina/Kennedie. Thanks again.

Voting Begins for Photography Contest for Kids

Mud, mud, mud....

Every year around this time, I like to take advantage of all of the rain that we have in IL. This year there has been no shortage, that's for sure. I love getting pictures of kids playing in the mud. I am an outdoorsy kinda girl so the muddier they can get, the better. Here is a preview of a couple of mud sessions so far this Spring.
